Have you ever seen a “world within a world” and a “place where Gods live,” Rudyard Kipling, the great poet never fails to explore the world’s beauty. Spiti, the Middle Land, the bridge which connects India and Tibet liesin the Trans Himalayan range. The only two roads which connect the outside world are, from Shimla and from Manali. The road which you come through may make you feel it as a treacherous travelling experience but the scenic beauty of the mountains, and the river which flows, make a beautiful love story and will make you feel wow. Spiti valley, the cold mountain dessert, makes you to experience the elegancy of super cool snow with the merciless hot sun.

Tourist places to explore:

Nako:

Nako, a village in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh lies in the sensitive and restricted zone in the Indo-Tibetian border, requires inner line permit to travelthrough. The village is known for an oval shaped Nako lake, which is surrounded by the mountains makes a great view. Boatingis the major attraction for the people from distant lands during summer. The frozen lake in winter becomes hub ice skating. There is an ancient monastery whichis known for artistic works, sculptures, murals, etc…, which are worth watchable. 

Suitable time to visit: April to October is preferred as its scenic beauty is at its peak

Tabo:

Tabo, the Ajanta of the Himalayas is situated in Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the oldest pilgrimage centres for the Buddhists. The second attraction in Tabo is the TholingGompa. It comprises nine temples and gompas.


Suitable time to visit: May to October as the weather plays a beautiful romantic tale.

Pin valley:

The fascinating valley is located in Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh. The ecosystem of pin valley is completely different. You may experience a wild furious but majestic pin river which flows throw the greeneries the wild mountain ranges. The strong sunny weather along with the furious winds, and the stunning views with enchanting silence brings a complete changeover to your mood.


Suitable time to visit: May to October as there will be a heavy snowfall in the winter. The weather will be quite pleasent.


Langza:

The offbeat paradise near Kaza in spitican be explored with a lovely wayin the high altitude villages. Langza is a pretty village with a great medicine Buddha statue. After langza there comes the India’s highest polling station, Hikkim. The village also has the name of world’s highest post office. The place is known for trekking. It offers a great solitude by the glimpses of wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, thrill filled snow clad peaks and the magic of sudden snows.


Suitable time to visit: Summer would be preferred. Especially in the months of March-June.


Demul:

Demul, the epitome of remoteness, solitude, and a beautiful pace of life makes you to realize the raw nature. The snow cock, although an elusive bird, can be sighted in this area. Damul is a place to notice various medicinal plants and other flora of the spitian highlands. Tibetian wolf, red fox and snow cock is the major attraction in the wildlife. You may find various places for horse riding and camping.


Suitable time to visit: March – May. December – June is equally good to visit.


Kibber:

Kibber is a village of spiti known for wildlife sanctuary and monasteries. It stands at a height of 4270 meters, surrounded by the Himalayas. This village attracts major tourists for mountaineering and trekking. It is also known for the preferred camping destination for the ones who explore around the great spiti valley. The surroundings of the Himalayas, green meadows and its natural beauty make great attraction. Short treks, hikes, temple visit, Chicham Bridge and ropeway are the major way to spend time.


Suitable time to visit: The winter is freezing here so summer months are the best to explore.


Losar:

Losar, the heavenly place in the planet surrounded by peaceful, soothing, and absolutely delightful nature is located in the indo Chinese border at an altitude of 4085 meters above sea level. It is located in the extreme end of spiti valley. It is much similar to ladakh in experience. The magnificent mountain ranges, stunning rivers, and breathtaking vistas spellbind the tourists with its unparalleled beauty. It is a place for ardent photographers and trekkers as it is surrounded by various splendors. One can visit the beautiful and everlasting Chandratal or the moon lake to enjoy the visual delights. Suitable time to visit: March to June and from October to November to feel the pleasant temperature.


Kunzum pass:

Kunzum pass, the place for various adventures, is one of the highest motorable passes of India. It connects the Lahaul valley and the spiti valley. The elegant glaciers, snow glad peaks, and a great valley behind makes tourists go crazy with the nature. It is ideal place for photography lovers, especially for the selfie lovers. It’s a place to enjoy the thrills, and turns.


Suitable time to visit: June to September to play with the snowfall. The temperature will be outstanding to chill.


Batal:

The main attraction of Batal is the proximity of the kunjum pass. It is place to see the beautiful Chandrabanga peak. The wind blows strong here all the time of the year with severe cold temperature. It is a place to spread the hands and just listen to the sounds of nature along with the lake called Chandrataal. The deep blue lake with the ring of white sand is the main attraction.


Suitable time to visit: September is the month of a flora and fauna. Spot the beauty with your eyes.


Route map to enjoy the journey:

Start the journey from Delhi to Chandigarh. After reaching Chandigarh takes a route to Shimla and from Shimla your main adventure starts. You will travel through various beautiful places of Chitkul, Kalpa, Tabo, Kaza, Kunzum, Chandrataal and then you reach Manali. Your return journey starts there by reaching Chandigargh and then you will reach Delhi.
